Learn about Rob and his counselling service

Rob and his dog in the South Downs

Hi, I'm Rob. I came to counselling as a client first. I was angry, bottling things up, with no idea what to do with my thoughts or who to take them to. When I finally reached out, what struck me most was what my counsellor didn't do — no advice, no guidance. The space usually filled by friends and family telling me what they thought went quiet, and in that quiet I found my own voice. Having been helped, I wanted to be the helper.

Before this, I worked in journalism, PR and marketing, and later ran my own dog wellbeing business. I've lived in London and the countryside, I'm a down-to-earth guy with family and friends of all ages, surrounded and aware of how the world at this very moment can impact people in different ways. You'll get me in the room — not a version of someone I think you might need me to be. Professional, confidential, calm, with the necessary knowledge, education and experience to hold you safely and ethically.

The formal bits - I hold a Diploma in Humanistic Counselling and a Level 4 Certificate in Counselling from the University of Chichester, plus a Certificate in Working with Trauma. I'm an Individual BACP Member and work to their code of ethics, fully supervised and fully insured. I am a registered member with Psychology Today. I'm also a qualified CPCAB breathwork coach.

Everything starts with a free twenty-minute chat — for us to meet, and for you to decide whether I'm someone you could work with. That decision is entirely yours. I really look forward to hearing from you.
